Mrs. Young has been teaching 22 years in Houston County.  

She attended Georgia College and State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in English and Math.  She continued her education at Mercer University obtaining a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and is currently scheduled to receive her Specialist Degree in Curriculum & Instruction in December of 2024.

She enjoys encouraging her students to read and write.  She always makes learning engaging and fun through creative and critical thinking activities.  She prides herself in having a classroom that is a safe environment from which to learn by demonstrating respectable behaviors.  Her Mantra is "You are exactly where you're supposed to be!"  On her own time she is spending time with her husband and her two children.  She enjoys running, swimming, biking and pretty much anything that can be done outside.  She is environmentally conscious and appreciates the beauty of nature.
